JABRA designs and sells hands-free accessories for mobile phone users. To inform motorists about pending hands-free driving legislation, our marketing team deployed a novel approach to outdoor transit advertising, coinciding with two major sporting events occuring simultaneously in the lucrative Southern California media market.
San Diego hosted both Super Bowl XXXVII and the annual PGA Buick Invitational golf tournament during the same one-month period. To grab the attention of area residents and visitors during this marketing moment bonanza, JABRA wrapped San Diego's trolleys in eye-catching advertisements, the first-ever sponsor to do so in the city.
JABRA reached its goals as a result of that focused marketing tactic. Motorists and trolley commuters were educated on pending legislation and motivated to change their mobile dialing habits. Media coverage by area news stations drove an increase in sales at area specialty retailers.
